Farmin in MN

First I am apologizing for the month that I took off from the blogging world, My life just got to be a little busy, my dad and brother and I are busy trying to get da crops in da ground before awl da neighbors do ya NO! If you have ever heard the terms Ya Tink Or No, you would of understood the Minnesotan lingo in the line before, it is kinda funny to talk to all of the farmers in this area because My family and I kinda make fun of dare accents, you have all heard dem i.e.... well da dod damn frost is till in da ground, dot my dod damn tractor stuck up to da axels, but all be damned if da neighbor will pull me out, he's got one of dem damn john DEER'S, aint gettin puwwled out by one of dose damn tings. Any ways back to my story, It is getting really hard to concentrate at work because Thursday my brother( Big Wade) and I and his boss (can't call a goose) Todd and myself are heading to Big Stone City, SD to go do some archery Turkey hunting. Hopefully I am able to bring back some pictures and videos to share with everybody.

So long and enjoy the weather!!

Puppies

I forgot to mention that we have two dogs, one Black lab, named Tember and a Ivory lab, named Tikka, for those who don't know what an Ivory lab is it is a Yellow lab that is more White than yellow. Here is a picture of Tember and my daughter Evalynn Tracee.

I can not seem to find a picture of Tikka but below are some pics of her puppies. They are 11 days old!!

out-n-about

So yesterday I was fortunate enough to go up in an airplane and fly around for awhile, man is that cool. My father-in-law has his pilots licence and is a part of the Alexandria flying club so him and I went up for a little ride. We took off from the Alexandria airport and headed east to look at one of our properties, in case you were wondering Rodney(father-in-law) and I own 3 property's, they were all foreclosures so we bought them and Arnie(brother in-law) and I fixed them up and we put them up for sale and we still have them for sale. Any ways back to the flying around, so we went east to Sauk Center and then north to Wadena and went up close to Fargo to check out the flood then back to Alexandria. The whole time that we were flying we saw 15 deer and that was it, but the coolest thing about seeing the deer was that 6 of them were on a food plot on our property I am not even joking I about filled my pants when I seen them I couldn't even believe it. So when I got home I started figuring out stand locations and what I am going to plant for food plots and then I heard the lovely forecast for this week and all of my excitement went right down the drain. On the positive note the turkeys are out in full force and there has even been reports from a local professional stating that she heard turkeys gobbling.

Mark it on your calenders May 9th at the Parkers Prairie Event Center Sportsman's Bonanza there will be speakers like Kip Adams and an Official Boone & Crockett and Pope and Young scoring official there so come and bring old or new sheds and kills to see if they make "Book" Check out this link http://p2wwhitetails.com

The First One

All right here I go........ Many of you may be wondering why I started a blog, the main reason I started a blog was because my wife started a wonderful blog about our daughter and our family, so after reading that, I started thinking that it would kind of be cool to start a blog about my hopeless addiction of HUNTING. I am hoping that people who read this will use this as a place to trade information and tactics on how they are successful no matter what kind of hunting you do. Here is some information about me and my huntin' buddies, We, and when I say we I mean my dad (Mike) and two brothers (Wade a.k.a. Big Wade) and (Brett I call him Gonzo) I also have a couple of other guys, my uncle(Mark) and the brother-in-law(Arnie) we always seem to have a great time no matter what we shoot or how much we shoot. Our famous saying is "This ain't no spectator sport" Here is a Photo of the group other than Arnie.

From left to right is Brett, Wade, Mike, Mark, then me.

I do almost every kind of hunting that there is to do,but I mostly concentrate on Deer. We have two pieces of land in the Miltona,MN area, with total of 240 acres. We are very firm believers in Quality Deer Management, I am actually the secretary for our QDMA Branch, which is called Prairie to Woods Whitetails. I would like to thank you for taking time to check out this blog, please keep checking back from time to time to see what I have going on. I would also really like to hear about everybody and their story about your "ANTLER ADDICTION."
